Life-long member Tom Lurie stated, "Nancy and I wanted to show our commitment to the temple by providing an opportunity to for our members to link their own personal interests as a means of strengthening Temple Israel. By motivating our members to share their excitement about their project with others we believe they will be encouraging communities of like-minded members to join together for a common purpose."
The project is being designed and implemented by The Grants Committee which includes Ted Bernard, Rita Cohen, Patricia Finkelman, Lee Hess, Karen Jones, Bob Keidan, Tom and Nancy Lurie, Kurt Malkoff, Elaine Pelz, Amy Wharton, and Rabbi Misha Zinkow.
