The community is invited to take a museum trip to Cleveland with the Columbus Chapter of Hadassah to experience a day of art, history and community. On Sunday, November 8, adults and teens are invited to experience three world-class venues.

The history of Temple-Tifereth Israel includes the inspirational leadership of Rabbi Hillel Abba Silver, who was instrumental in the establishment of the State of Israel. This historic synagogue also houses a museum collection.

The tour also includes the Museum of Contemporary Art exhibit “Hugging and Wrestling: Contemporary Israeli photography and video.”  This exhibit features photographic and video-based works by Israeli artists who embrace the beauty and strength of Israel while wrestling with its vulnerability as a land of contested territories, political and religious divisions and social inequities.

The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage is a testament to the courage, conviction, aspirations and achievements of Cleveland’s Jewish community. The stories of individuals and families – past and present – come to life through state-of-the-art exhibitions, films, oral histories, photographs and artifacts.

The bus will leave the JCC parking lot at 8 a.m. and is expected back there at 6 p.m.

The $60 per person cost includes transportation, museum entry and kosher lunch. Your check to the Hadassah office by October 16 is your reservation. Spaces are limited, so make reservations now by mailing your check to Hadassah, 2700 East Main Street, Columbus, OH 43209.

This event is chaired by Julie Cohen and Patty Guttman. For additional information, call Arlene at the Hadassah office, 235-8111, or visit www.columbus.hadassah.org.
